I currently live in Brooklyn with my three little boys and husband. What can I say, I’m the unofficial -but official - Queen in my house. I love weird combinations of food (more on that later), going out (MOMS CAN DANCE TOO), and seeing the "A-HA" look on a founder's face when they unleash the story that has been buried in them and their business for way too long.
Hello!
WOW. A LOT has happened since I was last on this blog.
Warning: SPICY takes below.
Get your mugs of coffee wine in position!
Apparently being on the brink of WWIII perpetrated by a group of the most unhinged, “wtf is a moral” collection of old white dudes isn’t great for a nervous system.
Or a “casual decompress” Instagram scroll. 🫠🫠🫠🫠
My older boys had their soccer tournament games cancelled this week against the American International School for security risks because apparently we make everything worse these days -even youth soccer.
This is coming from a city where you can leave your computer in a café, go for a run, and someone has probably cleaned your screen for you when you get back.
But I’ve found a new friend.
Hobby?
Obsession?
And I don’t even recognize myself.
Need to channel all of this rage energy.
Her name is Claude Code and I can’t stop building things.
For those wondering what Claude Code is: It’s basically an AI tool that lets you build actual software and apps by just… talking to it on your desktop.
No coding background needed.
You describe what you want, it writes the code, and suddenly you’re a developer.
In the last 3 weeks I’ve:
✅ Created a custom investor website for two women who HAVE INVESTED in MyStoryPro.🥳
✅ Updated our pitch deck at lightning speed every time I get new feedback (still raising).
✅ Analyzed three years of my writing to generate a personal manifesto on AI and storytelling.
✅ Started building out a custom BLOG section for our MyStoryPro website.
✅ Built a gorgeous landing page for upcoming trainings.
✅ BUILT AN API (Patrice has officially left the building) that connects folders on my drive to automations for marketing and business workflows.
In three weeks I’ve not only become a person who suddenly cares about APIs…
I signed up for a (please sit down for this because the super nerd alert is sounding)… HACKATHON on Sunday in honor of International Women’s Day.
And I convinced two other women to do it with me.
Who AM I?
Are you running from my post school drop off nerd out podcast sessions or what?
I’m telling you all of this because there are not enough oracle cards in the universe to predict that I would EVER fall in love with building.
But ladies…. It’s time to get dirty.
Let me explain why.
The debate everyone’s missing
While I’ve been going down this building rabbit hole, I’ve also been paying closer attention to what’s happening in the AI world.
Last week, Anthropic got banned from Pentagon work.
The headlines were perfect: “The good guys who refused to build killer robots (Anthropic) vs the sell-outs who said yes (OpenAI).”
Clean. Simple. Morally satisfying.
Except… not really.
Anthropic’s been in classified Pentagon systems since June.
They’re competing for drone-swarm contracts.
They just drew slightly different red lines than OpenAI -lines that protect US citizens IN the US but say nothing about the other 96% of the world.
I’ve seen lots of people capitalize on this frenzy.
Courses telling people to abandon OpenAI.
Hot takes about the morality of AI.
Lots of very confident opinions.
And please don’t mistake this for thinking I think Sam Altman (founder of OpenAI…also known as Trump and his war-loving department’s AI of choice) is a good dude (nah)…or is thinking about protecting citizens as he gives carte blanche freedom to tech that is already vaporizing jobs, strip‑mining our data, and rewiring our politics in real time so as long as it keeps his valuation soaring and the war machine well‑supplied!!
BUT… what has happened over the last few weeks is not a case of “good vs bad”.
And in my opinion you should NOT put all of your eggs in one LLM basket.
As my brilliant marketing friend said to me, “What Dario (founder of Anthropics) has done is genius. In marketing we call it a binary illusion. A manufactured good‑guys‑vs‑bad‑guy campaign forcing us to focus on a sexy aspect, while ignoring the deeper roots.”
And while we’re watching men debate the “right way” to build AI in boardrooms…
Women are the ones whose jobs are being automated first.
A new Anthropic report just came out today:
Women are 16 percentage points more likely to be working in jobs AI is automating first. (PROMISE this letter will take a turn for the positive Dear Lord I’m sorry:)
Finance. Legal support. Data analysis. Administration.
The educated, high-paying roles we fought generations to access.
Women aged 22-25 are already seeing a 14% hiring slowdown.
So we’re watching men decide:
And once again…women are largely absent from those rooms.
Just like we’ve always been absent when old (mostly white) men make decisions most of us never asked for.
And can anyone really say, “WOW, the world is just SO GREAT right now! Super positive and in flow.”
NO.
So why do we keep giving all the power to the SAME old (LITERALLY) people? Where’s the HR keeping THEM in check??
So…
As I have literally gone down ALL the spirals and realize “the rage” alone is so harmful and just wasted energy, I’m throwing myself into creating the world I want to see. (more women for one in all kinds of leadership.)
Here’s what it looks like:
1. The 10 women in my current Founders Fire Big Idea cohort are going after it.
Every single one of them is in a massive life transition — personal, professional, or both. But none of them are waiting for the “right time” or for permission.
They’re building now.
2. I just secured two female investors for MyStoryPro.
One is the head of AI transformation for a massive global brand. The other is CEO of a large communications and PR company. Both committed to creating a world where more women and founders are actually running things.
Give women the capital. Redo the status quo. Go let them do their thing.
3. Have I mentioned I’m going to a hackathon🤣
But YOU CAN TOO! It’s called SheBuilds on Lovable — International Women’s Day. The woman who runs product at this company I am unapologetically obsessed with (I even named an AI agent after her in MyStroryPro.)
She is hosting FREE hackathons all over the world.
You should see if there is one near you and JUST GO!
You won’t regret it and we can all nerd out as one.
But for real, the future is being built right now and we need women building it too
4. I am going out and wearing my stash of statement necklaces from 2005 because baby… the STATEMENT NECKLACE IS BACK.
Not every form of rebellion has to be serious.
The era of wearing 63 delicate chains that inevitably turn into a cat-fur sailor knot around your neck is finally ending. This makes me VERY HAPPY.
Alright I am going to wrap this novel up because I have Sh*t to build with my hacker girlfriends!!
But despite some doom and gloom in this email, I’m more bullish than ever.
Women are learning the tools.
Women are building the companies.
Women are funding each other.
Women are doing the actual work.
And here’s what’s coming up in my world:
→ Me and Wiebke are launching a Claude Code Camp soon (because if I can learn this stuff, literally ANYONE can) it will be free to all MyStoryPro members.
→ MyStoryPro is getting some major overhauls thanks to our investors.
→ And we’ve got a lot of incredible programming coming this spring through MyStoryPro because I want YOU in the room with us while all this is happening.
This moment isn’t about being anti-AI or pro-AI.
It’s about understanding that your career, your business, your future is being reshaped by people in rooms you’re not in…
Unless we build our own damn room.
Ok I’m off!
To dinner tonight with a bunch of women I have never met. (wish me luck.)
STATEMENT NECKLACE will be in attendance duh.
Have a great weekend.
XO
Patrice
