I currently live in Brooklyn with my three little boys and husband. What can I say, I’m the unofficial -but official - Queen in my house. I love weird combinations of food (more on that later), going out (MOMS CAN DANCE TOO), and seeing the "A-HA" look on a founder's face when they unleash the story that has been buried in them and their business for way too long.
Happy day-after–Bad Bunny–halftime-show.
I woke up to a FLURRY of chats on my high school thread (52 to be exact) and at the end of that thread I had to ask, “Wait…WHO won the game!?!?”
Times like that are when I FEEL not living in my country.
Watching the halftime show on social media the next day (FULL ugly crying at the end I might add) is NOT the same as watching it live with a house full of friends and a vat of queso with some buffalo wings. But I digress…
I’d like you to meet Nerida.
Last Wednesday we got on a Google meet as she filled out an application for Founder’s Fire Big Idea Edition.
Her name didn’t ring a bell.
She lives in Australia.
We don’t follow each other on any social media.
She’s not on this email list.
When we got on the call I casually asked her, “How did you know about this program?”
Her response:
“You came up recommended on ChatGPT Deep Research.”
I literally stopped mid-sentence. Wait, WHAT?
She explained that she asked ChatGPT to help her find people or programs that could help her show up more clearly in her business. It gave her a list of maybe seven or eight recommendations.
Most were in Australia or nearby – much better time zones for her.
But then she said this…
“I don’t know, there was something about what it wrote about you and I was like, ‘Okay, that sounds like what I’m looking for.’ And then I got on your website…and found your social.”
Here’s the Real Time clip of the start to our conversation.
She then sent me the full chat output.
I will spare you the entire output but there were two full pages written about me, my business and what I stand for.
I’ve never run ads. I know nothing about SEO. I have no digital courses.
Yet ChatGPT still knew exactly how to summarize my work – because my positioning was clear enough that an LLM could recognize and recommend it when prompted by my perfect client.
**spoiler alert, she is joining the six other amazing women in this program. We have 3 spots left!
What just happened here has an official name.
It’s called AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) or sometimes GEO (Generative Engine Optimization). Used interchangeably.
Basically, it’s how you show up in AI when people are doing research.
And in 2026, discovery is no longer owned by Google alone.
People are going to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini – asking:
Who should I hire?
Who gets this?
Who does this well?
Which is why this moment felt even more surreal to me…
Because it happened the day after I hosted Jenna Hannon inside the MyStoryPro community to teach how to rank inside AI summaries.
Jenna Hannon is my new girl business crush:) who was introduced to me (thanks Cris!) because we are both raising money for our companies and she comes from the Silicon Valley world.
Jenna taught Elon Musk how to kitesurf before he was “Elon Musk”.
She crossed paths with Canva founder Melanie Perkins in Australia (is this a theme of today’s email or what!?!) when people thought Canva was a terrible idea.
She was Uber Eats’ first product marketing hire.
She’s also a brand-new mom and a leading expert in the wild west of AEO right now.
One thing she said stopped everyone in their tracks:
“LLMs don’t like you going too broad with your content, because then they don’t know how to summarize you. If they can’t summarize you well they cannot recommend you out.”
This sounds like another “OH f@#^$&** another thing to stress out about moment…. BUT here is where it gets fun:
“You want to nail your story, and then you want to be very consistent. We’re going back to more classic marketing… Positioning, messaging, telling your story well.”
Website content and having BLOGS on your website is BACK. (I put all of these newsletters on my website blog by the way even though I NEVER promote it.. turns out I was being a “good AEO student” and I didn’t even realize it.)
But the blog content must be crystal clear and niche to your positioning.
NICHE PR beats massive outlet PR.
Think that wellness journal rather than a generic quote in a Forbes article.
YouTube is the most effective social media for being “AI Visible”(sigh).
BUT.. she said if you have a podcast or even Instagram reels, just upload them to YouTube shorts for the sake of AEO. (it crawls the transcripts.)
This isn’t about hacking SEO anymore (thank GOD, because remember when everyone was just flooding the internet with keyword-stuffed garbage which is how Google rankings started LOSING trust with us!?).
Or as Jenna put it:
“It’s your job to train LLMs on what your business does and why you matter. AI slop will hurt your ranking.”
In an AEO world, quality out-beats quantity.
This is about being so damn clear on:
…that when someone asks AI to find them help, YOU show up as the obvious choice.
What is hilarious to me is that as Jenna was saying this, I was mentally thinking, “well I do this (not the Youtube stuff) but am I showing up?”
And then came Nerida showed up the next day.
AEO rewards the people who’ve done the unsexy work.
Knowing their lane.
Owning their message.
Not trying to be everything to everyone.
But this type of stuff is NOT that easy…(especially if you’re trying to do this on yourself in a silo.)
This is the last week I am accepting Founder’s Fire Big Idea Applications.
We have 7 BALLER BALLER women inside -former anchors, reporters, policy makers, best selling authors, big tech leaders going fractional.
People who are done playing small and ready to own what they actually stand for in 2026 ***and show up on ChatGPT🤣
Come. To. Mama.
OK I’M SORRY WE NEED TO SHOW CASE THIS ONE LAST TIME HERE!
In this 12 week program (which kicks off February 26th) we will:
Whether you want to use this for speaking, building your personal brand, or just finally being able to articulate what makes you different without sounding like everyone else in your space…
This is your Bad Bunny moment. Time to own the stage.
We’ll see if it’s a fit, you’ll hop on a call with me and if it is, you’re in.
Just like Bad Bunny’s halftime performance wasn’t just seen -it was felt – **** I’m sorry half my high school group chat messages are actually R-rated🤣
..clear positioning doesn’t just make you visible, it makes you memorable.
That same emotional clarity is what makes you show up as the obvious choice when someone — or some AI — asks ‘who does this FOR ME?’
Here’s to hoping your queso and buffalo hangover isn’t too painful today….
XO
Patrice
P.S. — This is the last Founder’s Fire cohort before I transition my focus to scaling MyStoryPro. More on that soon (including some exciting investor news that came from a bad outcome). But if this program has been on your radar? This is your moment.
