I currently live in Brooklyn with my three little boys and husband. What can I say, I’m the unofficial -but official - Queen in my house. I love weird combinations of food (more on that later), going out (MOMS CAN DANCE TOO), and seeing the "A-HA" look on a founder's face when they unleash the story that has been buried in them and their business for way too long.
I want to give you a tip about how to make your videos connect better to your target audience.
Make. It. About. Them.
Videos that include the word “you” in the first 30 seconds see 68% more engagement than videos that don’t. Say “you” twice in the first 5 seconds & that number jumps to 98%.
Moral of the story is, it’s never about YOU. 🙌💃💃✨Your audience cares what is in it for them. So make it about them. Talk to them. Acknowledge them. Tell your viewer why they are important to your business. Tell them how your product or service will transform their life.
And look, the rest of the video also has to be on point and engaging, but if you can start implementing this little “You” habit into your content you’re already ahead of the game.
I see so many videos begin with the brand. What it is. The services it provides. The reasons why THEY are amazing. Often the founder will start and dive into their story off the top or rattle off credentials. There is no mention of YOU because ultimately, the video is not about their audience.
Rest be assured, if you’re starting your brand videos like that, you are probably not seeing 66% of people watching them.
Let me know how you liked this little trick! It really does work.
